How we score
We put every trending product through the same evidence-first rubric before publishing a verdict — hype doesn't earn a score on its own, and a quiet, unproven product doesn't get penalized for skipping the algorithm.
| What we weigh | Weight | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Ingredients & dose | 30% | The named actives and their per-serving dose — the specifics that actually matter, whatever the packaging trend claims. |
| Evidence behind the trend | 25% | Whether the research on the named actives actually supports what's trending online, not just what's repeated in the comments. |
| Third-party testing | 20% | Independent third-party testing, COAs, and NASC membership that verify what's actually in the product. |
| Value per serving | 15% | Cost per effective serving, not the price implied by a slick unboxing video. |
| Hype-to-reality gap | 10% | How closely the viral claim matches the label, and how far a product leans on aesthetics over substance. |
We cover the whole category and let a competitor win where it genuinely earns it — believable losses are what make our wins worth trusting.
